Nursery Schools and children’s centers
STANDARD SCHOOLING PROCESS
Which students have to participate in the Admission Process?
- First-time entrants to publicly funded pre-schools (3-6 years) or primary schools.
- Children entering publicly-funded schools offering Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate (any of the modalities).
- Children applying for a Primary or Secondary school other than the one corresponding to them by single/preferential assignment.
- Children who are enrolled at schools that have multiple school placements and who have to change schools.
- Children who want to change their school.
Nursery Schools and children’s centers
These are educational centres that cover a non-compulsory stage (0-3 years). The work of the schools complements that of the family in the care and education of their children.
- Calendar period: these schools are open from 1st September to 31st July.
- Holidays: Christmas, Easter, Summer (August).
Infants’ School timetable:
- General opening hours from 9.00 a.m. to 16.00 p.m.
- Extended opening hours from 7.30 a.m. to 17.30 p.m.
- Opening hours Children’s Centres: from 9.00 a.m. to 13.00 p.m.
Fees: families pay a fee proportional to their income.
